Oxalis Academy Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all students enrolled at Oxalis Academy, together with any enrolment form, fee schedule, and Academy policies.
1. About Oxalis Academy
Oxalis Academy provides educational services for IGCSE and A-Level students, including live online classes, one-to-one or small-group tuition, academic support, self-paced learning materials, assessments, and exam preparation. Oxalis Academy does not guarantee specific exam results, university offers, or outcomes.
2. Enrolment
Admission is subject to Academy review and approval. Parents/guardians must provide accurate application information. For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for enrolment, payment, and compliance. Enrolment is confirmed only after required documentation and initial payment are received.
3. Fees and Payment
Fees may vary by programme, subject combination, lesson format, and support level. Unless expressly stated, fees do not include external exam fees, textbooks, specialist software, or third-party services. Oxalis Academy may suspend access to classes/materials/services where payments are overdue.
4. Cancellations, Withdrawals, and Refunds
Where enrolment is completed remotely, statutory cancellation rights may apply under consumer law. After programme start, fees for the current term/course/package are generally non-refundable because teaching time and places are reserved in advance. If Oxalis Academy cancels a course, paid fees for undelivered services will be refunded or an appropriate alternative offered.
5. Attendance and Participation
Students are expected to attend lessons on time, participate actively, and complete assigned work. Students are responsible for keeping up with missed work. Repeated absence, lateness, non-participation, or failure to engage may lead to academic warnings or withdrawal from the programme.
6. Student Conduct
Students must behave respectfully towards staff and other students in all online and in-person settings. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abusive language, disruptive behaviour, cheating, plagiarism, or misuse of technology may result in warnings, suspension, or termination.
7. Academic Integrity
All submitted work must be the student's own unless collaboration is explicitly permitted. Cheating, plagiarism, unauthorised assistance, impersonation, or other academic dishonesty may result in penalties, removal from course participation, or termination of enrolment.
8. Online Learning and Technology
Students must use Academy systems responsibly, must not share login details, and must not distribute Academy materials or record lessons without permission. Oxalis Academy is not responsible for technical issues caused by student devices, internet connection, software, or local setup.
9. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property
All Academy lesson content and learning materials remain the intellectual property of Oxalis Academy or its licensors. Materials are provided for personal study only and may not be copied, shared, uploaded, sold, or distributed without written permission.
10. Safeguarding and Student Welfare
Oxalis Academy is committed to a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Parents/guardians must share relevant safeguarding, wellbeing, medical, or learning information that may affect the student's education. For under-18s, parents/guardians remain responsible for welfare outside scheduled activities.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Oxalis Academy processes personal data for educational, administrative, safeguarding, billing, and communication purposes in accordance with applicable data protection law, including EU requirements where applicable. Personal data is not sold to third parties.
12. Communication
Official communication may be sent by email, platform messages, phone, or other approved channels. Parents/students must keep contact details up to date and review communications regularly. Notices of withdrawal, cancellation, complaint, or significant change must be made in writing.
13. Media and Student Work
Oxalis Academy may use student work, testimonials, screenshots, photos, or recordings for educational/promotional purposes. Identifiable student content is not used publicly without appropriate consent. Parents or adult students may opt out in writing.
14. Liability
Oxalis Academy provides services with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, Oxalis Academy is not liable for indirect losses, loss of opportunity, exam/university outcomes, technical issues outside its control, or matters arising from a student's non-attendance/non-participation.
15. Changes to Courses or Services
Oxalis Academy may make reasonable changes to timetables, teachers, delivery methods, course content, or platforms where necessary, and will aim to minimise disruption and provide notice of significant changes where possible.
16. Complaints
Concerns should first be raised with the relevant teacher or staff member. If unresolved, a written complaint may be submitted to Academy administration. Oxalis Academy aims to review and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Portugal. Portuguese courts have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.
18. Acceptance
By enrolling at Oxalis Academy, the student and parent/legal guardian confirm they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
